A fine example of Union L.I.A.S. backgeared and screwcutting 3.5" x 16" lathe. The lathe was purchased in the early 1960s and used by a qualified machinist in his spare time to produce parts for a model steam engine - when it regularly worked to tolerances of 0.0005".
