Alexander/Deckel FP1 Precision Universal Milling Machine and tooling. I’ll be sorry to see this go, but I need a larger miller and unfortunately do not have the space to keep both. Has been used mainly for making tooling for my other machines, lately just light use on small aluminium and brass parts and, as it's a very rigid machine, it is very accurate. Alexander Deckel named the FP1 the 'Universal' because of its versatilty - the table can be swivelled and tilted into many positions or removed altogether and a job mounted direct onto the vertical table I've used the latter facilty for reboring motorcycle cylinders - and was impressed with the close tolerances produced. 3-phase motor, currently run through an inverter which is not included. However, if you want to run it from a single-phase, changing over is very easy as the motor mount is exposed at the rear..This machine has both vertical and horizontal machining capabilities. There are three major (and both rare and expensive) attachments included in the sale:
A horizontal work steady, arbor etc.
A very rare 3-phase high-speed vertical milling attachment (up to 6000 rpm) which greatly increases versatility,
An indexable rotary head
Together with the standard vertical milling spindle these attachments mean you could cope with most jobs!
The motor has two speeds and there are six geared drive combinations allowing a whole variety of cutting and feed speeds. Suds tank has been cleaned out. Gearbox oil drained, flushed out and refilled. All new power leads fitted, all over 3m long. Splash tray included but not shown in photos.
The x, y and z are all power feed, engaged by a single selector lever (sometimes a tad awkward to use until you get use to it). There is a coolant supply and a full three-axis DRO readout. I also have an owners / operator’s manual and DRO manual. Photos show all the various attachments fitted.
Can be tried and tested. More photographs available if required. Details of Alexander Master Toolmaker miller here and the Deckel FP1 here
