Sold: Boxford Mk.3 AUD Lathe
Boxford AUD Mk.3 lathe. A late-model example 5" x 24" with a screwcutting gearbox, power cross feed, single-lever engagement of backgear, coolant and mounted on the maker's underdrive stand. Included with the lathe is a 5-inch 3-jaw chuck, the correct half-depth body 6-inch independent 4-jaw chuck, Boxford quick-set toolpost with 2 tool holders (parting tool holder is damaged but serviceable, see pic.), catchplate and 2 drive dogs, a Jacobs 1/2" tailstock chuck, all the spanners and keys required, a set of Chinesium tools and a light unit. The lathe is 3-phase but I can supply and fit a Newton Tesla variable-speed inverter for £280 if required - though this will not operate the coolant pump). The lathe is in good working with no runout on the spindle and minimal backlash on the slides. The paintwork is original - but tired. I can securely crate the machine for transport if required, alternatively, I can help load here (Ripon, North Yorks) by forklift. Full details of Boxford lathes here
