For Sale: Holtzapffel/Evans ornamental turning lathe

The lathe comprises the Holtz mahogany frame and 6 drawer cabinet with lathe bed, headstock and tailstock in original configuration numbered 1376.  I understand the lot was purchased by the Honourable AF Cathcart from the Holtzapffel company in 1829 for £129.00.  The 6 drawers are fully equipped with all the equipment Holtzapffel intended to be stored in the allotted profile positions in the 4 upper drawers, all in place and in excellent condition and numbered 1376, most with the original makers finish and varnish intact.  The two lower drawers have upwards of 40 to 50 chucks in total plus other equipment all numbered 1376.  The treadle gear is missing but I have built a solid outer frame to house the original lathe, cabinet and overhead gear.  Regretfully, the pervious owner but one deemed the treadle gear redundant and removed it from the lathe.  It was therefore not available to me when I purchased it.  The lathe has an Evans ornamental turning slide rest as illustration Fig 14 page 64 of Ornamental Turning by JH Evans.  Equipment for sale with the lathe are as follows:

20 Holtz boxwood blocks threaded for Holtz mandrel all stamped 1376
12 taper mandrels
23 brass and boxwood ring chucks all Holtz and stamped 1376
2 brass steel ringed chucks, Holtz 1376

12 mandrel spade drills all stamped 1376

Fermanagh Ireland where the purchaser will need to collect and/or arrange collection.
