Myford 254S with hardened bed, mounted on the maker's cabinet stand and equipped with a Newton Tesla 1-phase to 3-phase infinitely variable-speed drive conversion fitted 12 months ago with 3/4 hp motor. This has transformed the lathe, it being very quiet and smooth running indeed. Fitted with an elderly but very reliable Sony DRO, 3-jaw chuck, the correct half-depth body 4-jaw Burnerd chuck, a Genuine Dickson quick-change toolpost with a number of tool holders and possibly some 12mm indexable tools, a 'boxed set' rotating centre with interchangeable ends, tailstock chuck and various centres etc. Although the paintwork is a bit worn in places, the condition is very good with a maximum variation in bedway thickness of 0.03 mm ( just over a 0.001") and .007" backlash on the cross slide handwheel. The only reason for sale is that I have started on a 4-inch scale traction engine and need a larger lathe. Details of Myford 254 lathes here
Also available at extra cost is a full Myford collet drawbar set with 15 collets 1/16th to 1/2 in 1/32 steps in the original Myford box.
