Sold: South Bend Heavy Ten Lathe

South Bend Heavy Ten Toolroom Lathe. 5-inch centre height by 24 inches between centres. This is the more highly-specified toolroom model Fitted with a screwcutting gearbox, taper turning, backgear, power cross feed and a useful 1.375-inch spindle bore. Mounted on an underdrive stand in cast iron with chip tray and a built-on collet storage tray above the tailstock Imperial graduations on the micrometer dials. Accessories include a set of collets by Rivett and the collet draw bar, 3-jaw self-centring 5-inch chuck by ‘Pratt Burnerd’, 4-Jaw independent 6-inch ‘Crown’ chuck,  draw-in C5 collet set and stand (the collets are mainly ‘Rivett’ brand from1/16” to 1” in 1/16” steps, fixed steady, travelling steady, 4-way toolpost,  9-inch faceplate, two spare chuck backplates, Jacobs ½” tailstock chuck, micrometer carriage stop, thread-dial indicator. Also included are various drums of oils for the spindle and bedways and manuals and charts both original and reproduction. 1-phase motor (the original 3-phase motor, with its double-step pulley, is also included).  The lathe is in good overall condition and everything works - though there is some bed wear at the headstock end and some cross-slide wear. This is a heavy lathe, my estimate about 1/2 ton. Moving House so must sell - just £395 or offers
