EMTOC precision jig borer by Grisetti in Italy. This compact machine employs a rigidly mounted, non-elevating table with a rise-and-fall head. The 26.75" x 11" table has 20 inches of longitudinal travel and 8.5 inches in traverse with all-hand feed by fine-thread screws. The No.3 Morse spindle has with a travel of 4 inches - with control by both a fine-feed handwheel through worm-and-wheel gearing and, for quick-action drilling, a lever working through rack-and-pinion gearing. The head can also be moved up and down on its way through 8 inches. The maximum clearance between the table and spindle nose is 14 inches and from the spindle axis to the column slides (the throat) is 9.25 inches. Spindle speeds are 350 to 2800 r.p.m. - but the machine is fitted with a new, £500, 3-phase to 3-phase variable speed inverter - so the range is both much slower and much faster.
