Harrison L5A Lathe 5.5" x 24" with an induction-hardened bed with a detachable gap piece, a full screwcutting gearbox with 36 changes of threads and feeds, power cross feed and a spindle clutch. This is an ex-education machine maintained in full working order. Fitted with a top-quality Newton-Tesla Mitsubishi variable-speed inverter running from a household 1-phase supply. The inverter gives both higher and lower speeds than the standard 40 to 1000 r.p.m. Like many "education-supplied" lathes, this one had metric dials on the top and cross slides but an "inch" screwcutting gearbox with a metric conversion set for the box included. Well equipped with a Pratt 3-jaw chuck, Pratt 4-jaw independent chuck, fixed steady, travelling steady, 4-way and standard toolposts, thread-dial indicator, two tailstock chucks, tailstock rotating centre, faceplate, catchplate, Morse centres, a set of drive dogs, the correct spindle-bearing adjustment spanner and a chuck guard.
