This is an ex-education machine maintained in full working order. Fitted with a top-quality Newton-Tesla Mitsubishi variable-speed inverter running from a household 1-phase supply. The inverter gives both higher and lower speeds than the standard 40 to 1000 r.p.m. Like many "education-supplied" lathes, this one had metric dials on the top and cross slides but an "inch" screwcutting gearbox with a metric conversion set for the box included.
