RIVETT 608 High precision Toolroom Lathe, backgeared and screwcutting and mounted on a really good bench. This is a superb machine, one of the best toolroom lathes ever made and a quality beyond everything else. Fitted with a screwcutting gearbox and a complete set of changewheels to expand its threading range; a taper-turning unit; power cross feed; the original micrometer-adjustable carriage stop, a 4-way toolpost plus the sort-after, eccentric cylindrical quick-set type; a Pratt Burnerd 3-jaw chuck, a new 4-jaw independent chuck, fixed steady, travelling steady; tailstock rotating centre and a tailstock chuck. Converted to an infinitely variable speed drive using a 1.5 h.p. 3-phase motor running from a 1-phase to 3-phase inverter. The reason that the Rivett 608 is accurate is that, unlike most lathes, the carriage slides on the top and front face of the bedway. If you want the best - here it is.
Collection in person only and payment on collection. I have the original Rivett combined speedbox, speed selector and clutch unit if required to change back to flat belt drive (this is £250 extra). This lathe will come apart easily and fit in a hatchback.
