For Sale: Pultra 1770 and 1750 lathes, parts and projects, and a Smart Brown Model L 5C 
collet headstock.
The 1770 bare headstock has a 70mm centre height tailstock and a full-height headstock (not 50mm with raising piece). 
Headstock and bed have coolant dam fitted. No bed hold down fixings for 
headstock or tailstock. Headstock missing 1 oiler, brake wheel, drawbar, 
nose protector, rear cover plate and spindle lock. Headstock needs strip 
down, new wicks and readjust as someone’s used (not me) grease not oil. 
Ideal ‘kit’ to upgrade existing 1750 to taller centre height. 1750 
capstan incomplete, as headstock is missing lever collet closer, also 
nose protector, brake wheel, spindle lock and oilers. Cutoff slide and 
capstan have the later taper gibs. No T slot hold down for cutoff, but 
capstan just uses threaded stud so could be fixed with BSW studding. 
Cutoff comes with both movable T slot bases for toolposts, but will need 
screws/screw holes easing. Capstan lacking lever and linkage but 
drawings included to allow you to make up same. Missing travel stops, 
but these are also BSW studding. Seems to operate and sequence OK when 
slide is pushed forward by hand. Two Pultra floating toolholders for 
small drills included – these use standard 8mm horological collets - 
plus rear 'tall' toolpost, but missing rocker and T-slot stud.. Also 
Smart & Brown Model L 5C collet headstock (drawbar only, not with collet 
closer). Bought as rebuilt with new roller bearings. Unused still 
sitting in shipping carton. Can no longer move this due to hernia op, so 
needs to go. 
The 1770 ‘as is’ offered at £115.
The 1750 capstan all-in, complete with base offered at £175 or without the
base £125. If enough interest, will split.
