For Sale: Schaublin 70 Turret Lathe (late model)
A Late-model Schaublin Model 70 Turret Lathe. This is a regularly used but very tidy example of this small high-precision lathe, which I have kept for rapid production of bronze bearings. The whole assembly, including a speed-controller variable-speed inverter, motor and countershaft is mounted on a single aluminium base plate and is easily portable for the average physique. The lever-operated headstock is of the F16 type with oversize bearings and so very robust with the spindle able to accept bar stock up to 13mm. The turret is equipped with a variety of useful tooling, including those hard-to find micrometer-adjusted toolholders. There is a set of F16 dead-length colletsfrom 0.5mm to 13mm in 0.5 increments, along with some eccentric and oblong gripping chucks. In addition there is a TOS 3 jaw 80mm chuck threaded to suit, though I don't have external jaws for it. The special double-concentric box spanner for adjusting the turret travel is present and the double toolpost cutoff slide. Having other machines which duplicate its work means I now need the space more than the machine, so looking to give it a good home. Location Moreton In Marsh, Glos.
