Sharp universal, vertical & horizontal milling machine mounted on a stand and fitted with an inverter to give dial-controlled infinitely variable speed drive on vertical and horizontal motors.  Of all-cast-iron construction, compact yet highly versatile, the Sharp has a 16'' x 4.5'' table with a ground surface, two T slots and can be swung 25° in either direction from central, allowing it to be correctly described as a "universal". Travels are: 12'' longitudinal, 4.5'' across and 10.5'' vertically. The bronze feed nuts are generously sized in bronze, and the dull-plated micrometer dials are of a respectable size. Horizontal and vertical spindles are both No. 2 Morse taper, run in taper-roller bearings and carry the same 1.125'' x 12 t.p.i. thread as a Series 7 Myford lathe. For horizontal work the drive passes through a backgear system that multiplies the torque and reduces the speeds to ones more suited to horizontal milling. Standard vertical speeds and horizontal speeds run from 270, 475, 930 and 1800 r.p.m. and horizontal in backgear from 90, 180, 300 and 600 rpm  - but with the inverter drive fitted, these can be both reduced and increased by anything up to 75%. The miller stands 33 inches high, around 24 inches wide and 35 inches front to back. It weighs around 320 lbs. Included are an ER25 chuck with one collet, a swivelling machine vice, a stand and two boxes of miscellaneous clamps, arbors, etc. £1500 or offers  Further details of the Sharp miller here
