For Sale: Smart & Brown Model M Mk.2 precision toolroom lathe. I have owned it for about 25 years, during which time it's had only light use in connection with classic car work and some attempts at model engineering. The motor is 3-phase, but I have a converter system that allows it to run off the usual domestic supply and also provides a measure of speed control. The lathe works fine, and, as far as I can tell, is in good mechanical condition. There are a good number of collets included, plus screwcutting changewheels stored in the end hatch, as in the photos. This lathe is really now bigger than I need, as I want to concentrate on some model engineering and clock restoration.
