For Sale: Boxford AUD Mk. 2 lathe Serial16580.
Boxford AUD Mk. 2 lathe Serial 16580 4.5" x 21" and manufactured 1964/5. 1-phase. Mounted on the maker's compact underdrive stand just 45” x 18” overall with a splashback. Bought November 2004 through this site, from an engineer in whose hobby was making clocks. I've used it for motorcycle restoration and workshop components. It was well equipped but I have added such as a rear tool post, a Bison chuck and steadies, etc. Metric dials, but an Imperial lead screw. Gearbox set for British threads with a metric transposing 100/127t changewheel included. Comprehensive equipment includes a genuine Myford milling unit to fit the T-slotted cross slide. A milling cross slide table with a Hemingway rear tool post for parting off. A Boxford badged Dickson tool post with 3 tool holders. A headstock dividing head with 3 dividing plates made by the previous owner for making clocks, 5-inch 3-jaw Pratt Burnerd chuck, 6-inch 4-jaw Pratt Burnerd chuck, Bison 3204-100, 3-jaw chuck on a Hemingway grip-true base with external jaws in fitted box. 7-inch faceplate, catchplate, spindle nose protector, tailstock rotating centre and drill chuck, Morse centres. ER32 collet chuck fitted to main spindle end thread, from Chronos. (The collets are with a similar chuck on my Centec Mill) Set of 6 Boxford collets with drawbar, 100 tooth change gear, two change gears on stub spindles. Thread-dial indicator, fixed steady, travelling steady, the original Boxford cross slide. The suds pump has been replaced with an Axminster unit. I collected the lathe, dismantled into major components, in a Ford Mondeo.
