Sold: Boxford STS 10.20 Geared-head Lathe
Boxford STS 10.20 Geared-head all-metric Lathe with a screwcutting and feeds gearbox and power cross feed. Centre height 132 mm and admitting 500 mm between centres (5.2" x 20") with a spindle bore of 35 mm (1.375"). An ex-education machine running on an infinitely variable speed 1-phase to 3-phase inverter. The original spindle speed range was 40 to 2240 r.p.m. but the inverter expands this to higher and lower r.p.m. The lathe is in really good condition with no chips or gouges in the bed, nor any wear marks - although some staining is visible in the photos. Complete with a 2-axis DRO, Bison 3-jaw chuck with spare outside jaws and key, the correct half-depth body Pratt Burnerd 4-jaw independent chuck, Morse taper 3 tailstock rotating centre, tailstock chuck and key, Bison two-position quick-change tool post with two tool holders, 2 Axis DRO. The following are not in the photos but are included: coolant pump and tank, fixed steady, headstock spindle reducing bush (goes from the obscure Boxford size to MT4), a reprint of Boxford user manual and parts list and the Telemecanique inverter manual on a CD.
