Lorch LAS model 2.5" x 11.25" miniature precision backgeared and screwcutting lathe in good used condition. I have had this machine for many years and took the opportunity to refurbish it during the Covid lockdown. It runs very well - new bearings fitted to the original maker's countershaft - and has been completely stripped and repainted. The slow-speed backgear, tumble reverse and auto-trip system for screw threading work perfectly. Complete with the original Klopper 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, 1 Morse centres, Rohm drill chuck, drive plate, drill pad, travelling steady, an extensive set of screwcutting changwheels and a collet drawbar - though only 2 collets! The bed near the chuck is free from dings and saw cuts. There is a bit of pitting on the tube to the rear of the headstock where the collet drawbar is inserted and a bit on the end of the bed by the stampings - but it is a 1972-built lathe! Fitted with a new 1400 rpm single-phase 0.18 kW motor and a custom-built control box incorporating a DOL starter with contactor and thermal overload, on/off switches, and a forward/ reverse rotary motor switch. The original 3-phase, 2-speed motor is included along with the switchgear. The Lathe is mounted on a baseboard with a tooling backboard that allows you to lift it on and off a workbench as required; in my opinion, it would be better mounted on a purpose-built heavy-duty bench - but I don't have the space, and it's one of the reasons I am selling. It would make a great addition to any workshop; I'm sad to see it go, but we are moving this year, and I just don't have the space for everything. I would welcome viewings, just get in touch.
