A special and immaculate Boxford Model C lathe 4.5" x 24" backgeared and screwcutting. This lathe has been restored, over 400 hours, to the highest standards by an ex-Dean-Smith & Grace machine tool fitter with the bed and slideways have all hand scraped back into perfect alignment. Comes with a 3-jaw chuck, the correct half-depth body 6-inch 4-jaw chuck, a set of screwcutting changewheels including an inch-to-metric 127/100t transposing gear, genuine Boxford 4-way toolpost, thread-dial indicator faceplate, and a catchplate. The lathe’s first owner was Mr. Jim Forsyth, then the man who made the Dean Smith and Grace toolroom checking gauges.
