Colchester "Master" and "Triumph"Early Lathes (1930s to early 1950s with an cast-iron plinth under headstock and a leg under the tailstock end). These lathe were sold with centre heights from 6 to 7.5 inches and badged as both "Master" and "Triumph" models. Unfortunately data published by the Company for their early lathes was either non existent or skimpy - and information about early Colchester Master lathes (before about 1953/4) has been difficult to find.
Colchester Student, Master and Dominion Lathes Mk 1 and "Mk. 1½" (and other versions, by Clausing the 13 x 24 and 13 x 36 etc). Round-headstock model but with either a "sliding-lever" on the apron that lifts into either one of two slots to engage the power feeds - or with a single, centrally-mounted round control lever.
