Willson "Slant-bed" Lathe. This lathe was also badged as other models including the "Elliott Ensign" and , with a straight bed, as the Elliott Mark 1N and Mark 1U. The twp headstock speed levers were mounted concentrically on a single boss and could be moved casually, As a safety measure, later machines were fitted a distinctive, quadrant-shaped cover with the levers having to be depressed before being able to be moved. WILLSON 7.5-inch and 8.5-inch Lathes: Instruction Manual and Illustrated Parts Manual for the model with two concentrically-mounted levers on the front face of the flat-topped headstock and with a clutch lever on top of the headstock pointing forwards. The screwcutting gearbox has two levers and, between them, a sliding tumbler selector. Includes a copy of the maker's Sales and Specification Catalogue. (Some versions, internally identical, had a "quadrant" arm to locate the speed change lever). Includes a copy of the maker's Sales and Specification Catalogue.

WILLSON Mk. V 7.5-inch "Newel" and "Willson/Elliott". Listed by the makers as the Canel Mk.V when fitted with a straight bed and the Newall Mk. V with a gap bed. Also, usually fitted with a “Universal” English and metric screwcutting gearbox Instruction.Manual and Illustrated Parts Manual (as useful sectional drawings) for the model with the large circular (or semi-circular) boss on the headstock and a circular control on the face of the screwcutting gearbox.
Willson "Pitel" Lathe 8.5-inch centre height. The Pitel can be recognised by its flat-topped headstock, more angular lines and a "dial" spindle-speed selector on the front face of the headstock (based on the Willson "Newhall" model). Instruction Manual with Parts as Sectional Drawings.
