SHELDON 10-inch L and XL later-type model mounted on an underdrive stand constructed from either braced sheet-steel or cast iron that held either an ordinary V-belt transmission or a rather complex variable-speed drive.The lathe was current from the early 1950s to the 1970s and sold under various Model designations.Screwcutting was by a gearbox with two sliding levers instead of the single lever of the previous model. A complete 110-page Data Pack including: Operation & Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Manual as Exploded Component Drawings. Contains an Electrical Schematic, a copy of the maker's comprehensive Sales & Specification Catalog and a copy of the Sheldon publication "Care and Operation of a Lathe".
