Suitable for Myford 7 Series and Boxford lathes, etc. This motor was bought as part of a Newton Tesla VF drive for my Myford 254 Plus, but the lathe came fitted with a 3-phase motor and I used that instead. Smart and Brown Mk.1 Model M backgeared, screwcutting precision toolroom lathe 4" x 18" with power cross feed and coolant - probably manufactured between 1946-47. The lathe is used frequently and is almost completely original even to the factory-fitted single-phase drive motor and switchgear (the leather drive belt if not the first fitted, is ancient). I've replaced the coolant pump with an alternative as the original was unserviceable. A note of caution: the lathe does not have any modern safety stops or cut-outs.

For Sale: a classic Pittler C3 lathe precision (130mm x 600mm) badged by George Adams the UK agent for Pittler machines. Built c1900 and in full working order. I have looked after this lathe for over 40 years making model steam and Stirling engines but now old age forces me to seek another custodian for it. It's mounted on its original cast iron base and is still, I believe in its original paint. This lathe does show signs of backlash on cross-slide leadscrew nuts - but has been carefully looked after all its life, it shows little wear and no significant corrosion.
